After being on the Disney Dream and seeing the dramatic differences between that ship as opposed to the classic ships,I really didn’t have high hopes for the Fantasy being much different than the Dream. It’s not uncommon for cruise ships to look alike or even have the same design elements with a slightly different decor. I was so “wow-ed” by the Dream i didn’t expect that the Fantasy could top that and i’m happy to admit that I was wrong again.
Disney Cruise Line has exceeded its own standard of excellence with the Disney Fantasy. Things on the Dream that hindsight could have been improved make the Fantasy an even better experience because those things were already tended to before passengers began boarding.
The theming is quite decadent with art deco influenced heavily by the colors of Peacock feathers. The feather theme is seen throughout the theming of the ship and even carries over into the merchandise and can be found on various t-shirts and other objects.
The view from the second floor balcony shows the lush carpeting with the rich colors of the peacock and the colored chandelier above is just as decadent and adds an unsurpassed elegance.
The overall ambience on the ship is very similar to the Disney Dream but with its own unique features. I love that Disney listened to what people liked and didn’t like about the Disney Dream and made improvements to the Fantasy accordingly.
There are differences between the two ships and i’ll talk more about those soon and hopefully will be able to upload photos soon, the wi-fi is slow and there are a lot of pictures so i’ll do what I can but if it doesn’t work here they will be coming as soon as I get home.
