The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is gorgeous! This was my first time seeing the topiaries and all the blooms in "real life" and i'm not at all disappointed!
I put topiary hunting on the top of my list of things to do and gladly worked my way around the park to view the famous topiaries.
Photos of all the topiaries are in the process of being posted, which at this internet speed could be another month or so until they're uploaded but i'm doing my best!
I was surprised at how many different things were available at the Flower and Garden festival. There are several locations with special merchandise, (i'm particularly fond of the Pink Flamingo with Mickey ears!), Festival Center has learning seminars and features different TV personalities from HGTV's headline shows and there are also great details like the little fairy houses in Pixie Hollow. There are also things to keep the little one's busy...like exploring the Backyard Playground or one of the several play-scapes brought to you by Evos.
The colors are beautiful and coordinate perfectly within the topiaries and in the lush garden expanses that are all around Epcot. Someone certainly knows how to plant to make each color grouping and flower type flow perfectly to achieve the overall breathtaking look.
This is a great thing to see while you're in Epcot and even for someone who can kill a cactus, like myself, I was amazed at what can be done with these plants-especially in this heat!
The crowd levels are a bit high but that's to be expected with the spring break situation. I didn't feel any of the Flower and Garden Festival "attractions" were overcrowded and many people choose to peruse through the lush gardens as opposed to stomp on by.
If you don't care about Flower and Garden Festival you won't be forced to enjoy it, you can easily scoot around a topiary you don't want to see or skip the Festival pavilion altogether and rush to wait in a 100 minute line for Test Track.
This was definitely worth seeing, the only negative thing i've heard about Flower and Garden Festival is that it doesn't seem to change much from year to year in terms of the main topiaries, etc. but true garden lovers will love the blooms each year anyway.
