Castaway Club Membership Benefits

When researching for your Disney Cruise you have probably seen the term “Castaway Club” and wondered “what is that?” and “how do I get in?” Lucky for you, I am here to answer all your questions regarding Cruise Line (and anything else really!) So let’s talk about the Castaway Club. 

What is the Castaway Club? 
The Castaway Club is a way the cruise line can track your cruise history and provide you with special treatment and benefits based on your status level.

How do I become a Castaway? 
After you have completed your first Disney Cruise you will automatically become a Castaway Club Member. You will receive a note in the mail welcoming you and you should also receive your Castaway Club Membership numbers at this time (they are on a credit card sized punch-out in the note). 

What do I get for being a Castaway?
The benefits of membership increase by your “rank”. Much like medals in the olympics your status increases from Gold to Silver and finally Platinum. Your status is identified by a lanyard with your color and club level displayed on the neck strap.The lanyard actually does have a use (besides showing off your status) and holds your Key to the World Card in the plastic zippered pouch; which comes in handy on the ship.

Basic benefits for Castway membership include: 

• Insider Exclusives: Info, tips and news about the Cruise Line happenings. Your Castaway login on the Disney Cruise Line website will give you access to news, recipes (Konk Kooler anyone?) and printables.
• Early access to online activity planning: You will receive advanced booking for shore excursions, spa treatments and adult dining reservations. 
• Your own phone line: Yep, Castaway’s have their own peeps at DCL to help them out, that’s just how we roll. 
• Early booking opportunities-Castaway Club members are able to book future cruises before the itineraries are released to the general public. 
• Exclusive check-in at the cruise terminal: There’s a members only line at each port for Castaway Club members. 
• Welcome back stateroom gift-Something special will be waiting in your stateroom!
• Onboard booking offers-receive special savings for future cruises

Your club status is determined by the number of cruises you have taken:

• Silver-Begins after you complete your first cruise
• Early access to online activity planning at 90 days prior to sailing
• Gold-Begins after you complete your fifth cruise
• Early access to online activity planning at 105 days prior to sailing
• Invitation to a members reception onboard (cruises 4 nights and longer) to meet and mingle with the ship’s officers. 
• Special Merchandise offerings and discounts on merchandise (10%) 
• Platinum-Begins after you complete your tenth cruise
• Early access to online activity planning at 120 days prior to sailing
• Invitation to a members reception onboard (cruises 4 nights and longer) to meet and mingle with the ship’s officers. 
• Special merchandise offerings and discounts on merchandise (10%)
• Priority check-in at cruise terminal 
• One of the following complimentary treats:
• Fruit tray featuring a variety of fruit including kiwi, strawberries, apples and more
• Sparkling Wine
• Five Truffle Chocolate Box
• One complimentary visit to Palo: All guests 18 years of age and older staying in a single stateroom with Platinum Castway Club guests may enjoy the complimentary Palo dining experience. This benefit is non-transferable and limited to one complimentary experience per stateroom, per sailing.

As you can see, membership has it’s benefits and the best part is there’s no annual fee and you don’t have to do a thing...except cruise with Disney! I didn’t think much of the Castaway Club after our first cruise but I’ll admit when our second cruise rolled around and we received our silver lanyards at the cruise terminal and had a gift on our bed in our stateroom we felt pretty special! It’s amazing how quickly you’ll become addicted with working your way up the cruise chain (so to speak). We felt like we were holding at gold FOREVER so when our tenth cruise was under our belt and we were granted Platinum we stood on the bow of the ship and said “I’m the KING OF THE WORLD!”, ok not really....but we maybe should have.
