Start Your Engines! Cars Land is Almost Open!

California Adventure Park has been preparing for the opening of Cars Land, set to open June 15th. This expansion has had the Disney Parks blogs buzzing and media previews are the envy of everyone not in attendance.

Inside of Cars Land Radiator Springs comes to life and the gangs all here! Cars Land will a variety of new offerings including attractions, merchandise and dining.

Attractions:

• Mater's Junkyard Jamboree-A "square dance" hosted by Tow Mater, who also provides the vocals for your "dance". Board a baby tractor with trailer (can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child) and dance the night away! 
• None of the 22 tractors in Maters Junkyard are alike! They all have different eye colors, spots and mouths!
• This ride has a "whip ride" feeling and can accommodate up to 600 visitors per hour

• Luigi's Flying Tires-Float and fly around Luigi's 8,000 square foot Italian garden and storage yard by leaning in the direction you want to move. 6,714 air vents blow over 1.86 million cubic feet of air per minute to keep your tire floating above the ground (imagine being the puck on an air hockey table!) Each tire can hold 2 adults and 1 child or 1 adult and 2 children. 
• Luigi's has a ride capacity of 600 visitors per hour
• This ride is inspired by Flying Saucers, a classic Disneyland Park attraction from the 1960's.  

• Radiator Springs Racers-I think this is the most anticipated attraction of Cars Land. The wall of Radiator Springs has been going up for what seems like forever and soon you'll be able to race through Radiator Springs just like Lighting McQueen and Sally. This ride (slightly similar to Test Track at Walt Disney World, your 6 passenger car begins with a leisurely stroll through the town of Radiator Springs, and visits with a few locals along the way as you prepare for the race. You'll prepare for your big race at either Luigi's Casa Della Tires or Ramone's House of Body Art; so ride more than once to see both!
• Radiator Springs boasts "zip over hills, zoom around high-banked turns and cruise down camelback straightaways past spectacular red-rock formations". 
• The ride capacity is expected to be 1,500 guests per hour.

• Ramone's House of Body Art-Two signature clothing lines will be sold at Ramone's; "Low and Slow" and another collection with a more laid back look. 
• The "Champion Custom Speedshop Collection" will be a line of special collectibles for Annual Passholders with an early Grand Opening Collectible series.

Food

• Flo's V8 Cafe-Rotisserie Entrees and signature milk shakes
• Flo's will have four "Spit Fire Rotisseries" inspired by the 1960's. Offerings may include rotisserie turkey breast marinated in citrus over mashed potatoes, rotisserie pork loin slices with Coca-Cola BBQ sauce, Veggie Tater casserole (a Shepard's pie like item) and Veggie baked beans.
• Cozy Cone Motel-Featuring Chili "Cone" Queso and "Frozen Conecocotions". 
• Filmore's Taste-In-A variety of snacks 
• If you're looking for typical theme park food you won't find it at Radiator Springs. The food and beverage team did a 10-day, 17-stop tour along Route 66 sampling different menu's and items to make your experience in Cars Land authentic.
