5 Mistakes New Cruisers Make

There are common mistakes that newbie cruisers make, so i'm here to save you time, money and suffering so you don't have to be one of them.

1. Overpacking: You don't need to pack everything but the kitchen sink-you don't have room for it. Read my packing tips to revolutionize your packing and avoid unnecessary bulk.
2. The Drink of the Day: Disney is one of the most inclusive cruise experiences but the lovely fruity drinks in souvenir mugs that are abundant during the Sailing Away party are NOT complimentary. The Drink of the Day is always slightly discounted and will be featured all day long but they will be billed to your stateroom account. 
3. Beverage Packages: When you board there will be tables set up throughout the ship offering water, beer, wine and soda packages. Don't do it. Unlike other cruise lines Disney has a 24-hour complimentary beverage station so instead of spending $2 for a can of pop...head up to the pool deck and get it for free. If you're a big drinker and the small cups provided won't cut it for you, bring your own sipper mug from home. Yes, this will require walking to the soda fountain when you're thirsty but with the abundance of food...a little walk is a good idea!
4. Shopping Seminar-Each port of call has shopping, but every port is basically the same thing, so unless you're looking for savings on massive diamonds or rare gemstones skip the shopping seminar. The free gifts and giveaways aren't anything to write home about and you can pick up shopping maps and brochures at the Port Adventure desk.
5. Skipping Palo-I know what you're thinking, dining is included so why pay the $20 per person up charge to eat at Palo? Having a dining experience like the one you'll have at Palo would cost you hundreds of dollars anywhere else, the service is much better and you don't get charged per entree. You can literally order one of everything on the menu and they will gladly bring it at no extra charge. The quality of food is exceptional and the experience is amazing...don't miss it!
